For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. -- Ephesians 2:8-9
As consumers, we've often been told that nothing comes to us for free. We're always looking for some kind of catch--something we have to do to get what we want. After all, somebody has to pay for it, right?
That's what makes the free gift of salvation so incredible. Jesus Christ came into the world to make things right with God for us. He lived the perfect life that none of us are capable of, and then took our place on the cross to suffer and die in our places.
Knowing that Jesus did it all to make us perfect in God's eyes, it's out of thanks that we live a new way. Instead of being bogged down by guilt and shame, we can find the joy in any situation knowing that--even in the darkest moments--God's plan is being carried out, and He will never leave us or forsake us. In turn, we live to share God's free gift with people just like you.
